OPTICAL TOOLS CORPORATION BRINGS INSTRUMENT-GRADE LED
LIGHT SOURCE TO SCIENTISTS AND OEM MANUFACTURERS
New
blue light source provides a unique combination of convenience, cost-effectiveness,
stability and time savings to both scientists and OEMs
Watertown, MA Optical Tools Corporation today announced the
release of the new LEDS1020, an instrument-grade blue LED light source,
bringing a unique combination of convenience, cost-effectiveness, stability
and time savings to both scientists and OEMs.
The LEDS1020 is a zero warm-up time, 470-nm LED light source stabilized
to 500 ppm/degC. The device features adjustable CW output intensity
via a built-in trimmer potentiometer, as well as a female threaded cavity
for housing 1-inch or 25-mm optics. The rugged aluminum package can
be easily integrated into breadboards, microscopy setups, or OEM devices
using a standard wall adapter. Other wavelength and modulation options
are also available.
In a lab setting, the ease of use means faster experiments and
less time waiting for reproducible results, said Stephen Tobin,
President of Optical Tools. Warm-up time is essentially zero,
which translates to faster instrument operation in the field, and the
stability allows engineers to consider more economical single beam designs
instead of double beam.
